Why Play Yellow Exists

Golf has always been much more than a game. In 2019, Children’s Miracle Network® launched Play Yellow with Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and the PGA TOUR to unite the sport’s deep traditions with the extraordinary impact a collective community can make. Through Play Yellow, donors, partners, and fans join forces to raise urgently needed funds that support their local children’s hospital—fueling care, innovation, and brighter futures for kids.

How about a little history?

A Lifelong Commitment

Jack and Barbara Nicklaus have spent their lives bringing people together around a shared belief: kids deserve access to the care they need, when they need it. Their passion for children’s healthcare extends far beyond the game of golf, uniting fans, players, and partners in support of children receiving care at local children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

What began as a personal commitment has become a powerful movement, fueled by community, compassion, and the belief that when we come together, we elevate possibilities for every child.

Enter Children’s Miracle Network®

Turning passion into impact takes more than good intentions—it takes a network built to make big change. Children’s Miracle Network unites 170 leading children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada, along with corporate partners, donors, and fundraising programs, to raise urgently needed funds for children’s healthcare in local communities.

Through this partnership, Play Yellow connects the game of golf to a larger purpose—ensuring funds raised support children’s hospitals where care happens every day. With the flexibility to meet their greatest needs, hospitals can invest in life-saving treatments, child life services, advanced equipment, and family support. Together, this network transforms generosity into care that helps kids thrive—locally and nationally.

How Play Yellow Began

Play Yellow started with a simple but powerful question: How can the golf community come together to support children’s healthcare? That question sparked an idea—one that would unite players, fans, tournaments, and partners under a single mission to make a meaningful difference for kids.

Born from collaboration and shared purpose, Play Yellow became the way the golf community rallies behind children’s hospitals through fundraising, awareness, and action. Today, it’s a growing movement that invites everyone who loves the game to be part of something bigger—turning every round, event, and moment on the course into an opportunity to make big change for all kids.
